Sophia McKee was a well-known poet, who went by the nom de plume, Blanche Bennairde.   Her many poems appeared in her husband's newspaper, Taylor Platform, Godey's magazine, and The Female Poets of America, published by E. H. Butler & Co., Philadelphia, 1852.   Her poem, "Something To Live For", appears on the net.

Her first husband, Charles Greene, was the nephew of Revolutionary War General Nathaniel Greene.
